A competitive game of risky rewards
Something ancient with eight arms guards a mountain of doubloons at the bottom of the sea. You're diving anyway. Whoever holds the treasure controls the depth of the dive — everyone else decides how far they'll follow. One card too many, and the squid keeps the gold.

The Lead Diver rolls both dice. The total is the Max Dive Depth — the number every diver is racing to reach.
Shuffle your Depth Cards face down. Shuffle all you want — once you stop, your hand is locked in.
Flip cards one at a time, adding as you go. Stop whenever you like. Pass the Max Depth and you bust — out of the round.
Highest total without busting wins the round and the Doubloon. Win while holding it to advance a FATHOM — reach FATHOM 6 and win it all.
Win rounds while holding the Doubloon to descend, FATHOM by FATHOM. The first diver to win a round at FATHOM 6 with the Doubloon in hand resurfaces with all the treasure. Everyone else goes home empty-handed.
The deeper you go, the stronger you get — take back a busted card, knock rivals up a level, cut their air entirely. At FATHOM 6 even the squid can't touch you.
Shorter on time? Every round win advances a FATHOM, and exact matches leap two. Same tension, half the evening.
